Here is the story of a doctor who lost his moral compass.
Dr. Michael A. Rosin was a well-respected community member, family man, and dermatologist in Sarasota, Florida. He specialized in Mohs micrographic surgery, which is a technique that excises skin cancer via removal of multiple thin layers of skin.
Central Florida pain management physician Mladen Antolic, the father of 2 sons, had a thriving, sizable medical practice, Injury Mid-Florida Rehabilitation, just outside downtown Orlando. He also had a penchant for hosting wild, illegal drug and sex parties with patients at his home, where he plied women with prescription drugs.
Harold Frederick Shipman was one of the most prolific serial killers the world has ever known, and the only doctor in the UK to ever be found guilty of killing patients. The son of a lorry driver, he was born in Nottingham, England, in 1946. Shipman was very close to his mother, who died of lung cancer when he was 17 years old. In the latter stages of her disease, a doctor would administer morphine to her at home. Eerily, his mother’s death occurred in a manner that was similar to what Shipman would later use in many of his murders.
