More Ibuprofen Oral Susp Lots Recalled Due to Higher Concentration

Tris Pharma is recalling 3 additional lots of Ibuprofen Oral Suspension Drops, USP, 50mg/1.25mL due to some units containing higher levels of ibuprofen concentration. Previously, the company recalled 3 lots of the generic product distributed in Wal-Mart Stores, CVS Pharmacy, and Family Dollar Services.

Ibuprofen Oral Suspension is indicated for use as an analgesic and antipyretic. Some units from the affected lots were found to contain ibuprofen 10% above the specified limit. 

The 3 additional lots include:

  • Lot# 4718, Exp 12/19 (CVS Health: Infants' Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension, USP, 50mg per 1.25mL, in 0.5oz bottle)
  • Lot# 00717005A, Exp 02/19 (Equate: Infants' Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension, USP, 50mg per 1.25mL, in 1.0oz bottle)
  • Lot# 00717006A, Exp 02/19 (CVS Health: Infants' Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension, USP, 50mg per 1.25mL, in 1.0oz bottle)

All of the affected lots were packaged in ½ oz and 1 oz bottles.  To date, no serious adverse events have been reported related to this recall. Retailers in possession of the affected lots should discontinue distribution.
