Novo Nordisk announced the availability of Rybelsus® (semaglutide) tablets 3mg, 7mg, or 14mg in 30-count recyclable bottles.
Rybelsus is a glucagon-like peptide (GLP-1) receptor agonist indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Novo Nordisk is transitioning away from the 3 blister packs of 10 tablets to a single, fully recyclable 30-count bottle to minimize waste and reduce environmental impact as part of its “Circular for Zero” initiative.
According to the Company, the new packaging will not impact price, coverage, out-of-pocket cost, or the patient savings and support offerings. The tablets, dosage, usage, storage, and handling instructions will remain the same as before.
The tablets should be stored in the closed Rybelsus bottle until administration. The Rybelsus blue cap is equipped with a drying agent that helps protect the tablets from moisture.
Rybelsus® (semaglutide) tablets 3 mg, 7 mg, or 14 mg monthly supply now available in a bottle. News release. Novo Nordisk. Accessed January 5, 2022.
