New Media Attention on Rising Maternal Mortality in the United States
Why is maternal mortality increasing in the US? Like most complicated issues, there is no simple answer.
Elisabeth Aron, MD, MPH
Elisabeth is a practicing OB/GYN Hospitalist and a medical writer. She has authored a book, Pregnancy Dos and Don’ts, and contributed/consulted on numerous pregnancy related books, chapters, posters, apps and articles. She obtained her MD from the Albert Einstein School of Medicine and completed her OB/GYN residency at St Luke’s/Roosevelt Medical Center. Elisabeth was in private practice in New York until a move to Colorado resulted in a career shift where she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Molecular Biology at Colorado State University and went on to be a Women’s Reproductive Health Research Scholar at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She has since returned to clinical medicine and has completed a Masters in Public Health with a concentration in health communication at the Colorado school of Public Health.
